Dr. Barbara Ann Cade McCool, 71, passed away on Tues. June 24, 2025, at her home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Mon. June 30, 2025 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and on Tues. July 1, 2025 from 9am-10am at Liberty Baptist Church in Flowood, MS. Funeral Services are 10am on Tues. July 1, 2025 at Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Lakeland Place Memorial Park Cemetery in Brandon, MS.
Dr. McCool was born on June 29, 1953, in Columbus, MS to the late Frank Lawson Cade and Evelyn Allen Cade. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Flowood, MS. Dr. McCool retired as a Principal in 2014 and she served as the 1st Principal at both Flowood Elementary School and Highland Bluff Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband, Michael McCool; two sons, Jonathan McCool (Donna) and Franklin McCool (Jessica); sister, Patricia Hinson (Anthony); brother, Allen Cade (Debbie) and her grandchildren, Cheslyn Martin, Seth Martin, Kensley Martin, Lawson McCool and Mary Allison McCool.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
