With love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Len Smith, age 85, who passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 18, 2026. Len was born on May 20,1940, in Lyons, Nebraska, to Vincent and Lona Smith.
Len shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judy, whom he affectionately called his “angel” in recent years. Together, they built a life rooted in partnership, hard work, and adventure.
Len’s life journey took many turns. He began his career as a teacher, later moved into quality control, and eventually became Judy’s greatest supporter when she launched a wholesale jewelry business after their daughter was born. Len and Judy ran the business side by side until retirement.
Retirement opened the door to one of Len’s favorite chapters…his Harley-riding days! He and Judy traveled extensively across the United States, collecting stories, friendships, and unforgettable memories - especially during their many trips to Sturgis.
Len was a wonderful father to his two children, Mitch and Julie. He believed deeply in supporting their dreams and standing by them, even when he didn’t always agree—and he was never shy about saying so. What mattered most was that his children always knew where he stood - behind them.
To those who didn’t know him well, Len might have seemed like a “bull in a china shop.” But to those who loved him, he was a soft-hearted man with a big personality, and a generous spirit.
Len is lovingly remembered by his wife Judy; his children Mitch (Judy) and Julie(Doug) Clark; his grandchildren Erika, Megan, Spencer, Jason, and Joscelyn; and his great-granddaughter Averie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Bob and Densmer.
The family will be celebrating his life on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11-2p at Smoke on the Water in Okauchee, Wisconsin (N50W35016 Wisconsin Ave, Okauchee Lake, WI 53069). Please come and share a bite to eat and to share a story about Len with friends and family.
