Kaplan, Louisiana- A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend John Joseph Bourque will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Dr. Patrick Steven Tate, 59, who passed away on June 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St Anne Cemetery.
He is survived by his fiancée Tonya Sturm of Youngsville, La; three sons, Dr. Sean Casey Tate (Kelley) of Blackstone, VA, Stephen Patrick Tate (Melissa) of Elmore, AL, and Sy Nicholas Tate (Mary) of Conway, AR; two daughters, Tabitha Tate Thorland (Tristan) of San Antonio, TX and Tori Tate Patty (Austin) of Houston, AR; one stepdaughter, Kaylee Sturm of Youngsville, LA; his father, Dr. David Anthony Tate and Victoria Boullion Tate of Kaplan, La; his mother, Patricia Giglio Schmidt, and Karl Schmidt of Lafayette, LA; two sisters, Renee' Maria Tate and Larry Perruzza of Hopewell, NJ and Natalie Angelle Tate and Mark Graham of Pass Christian, MS; four brothers, David Anthony Tate II (Lori) of Opelousas, LA, Mark Elward Tate (Christie) of Suwanee, GA, Dr. Scott Michael Tate (Beth) of Lafayette, LA, and Andrew Baron Tate (Beth) of Kaplan, La; and six grandchildren, Johnathon Tate, Baylee Tate, Jaxson Tate, Remi Patty, Blakelee Patty, and Stetson Patty.
Pallbearers will be David Tate, Mark Tate, Scott Tate, Andrew Tate, Sean Tate, and Stephen Tate.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jaxson Tate.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan (337) 643-7276.
