Drake Steven Frey

Drake passed away in his home, surrounded by his loving and devoted family, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, after a long and courageous struggle with complications resulting from his disabilities, originating from cerebral palsy.
Drake was a fighter who filled every room with a contagious smile and delight in the love and life he had. He was the epitome of bravery, toughness, and exceptional charisma.
He had an amazing way of making you feel valued and special and would vocalize just how excited he was to have you as a friend.
Drake was the definition of inclusion. Not inclusion for his sake, he included and welcomed others into his world. People who had never known a person with a disability or met someone with cerebral palsy were instantly drawn by his personality and sense of humor, and soon realized that his disability was such a small portion of who he was. He influenced many of his classmates, many of whom went on to careers in social work, nursing, teaching, and occupational/physical therapies. Drake included his friends at his Halloween parties, homework sessions, and many Rail Trail hikes.
Over his lifetime, Drake had many wonderful, dedicated caregivers, all of whom would say that they were truly blessed and humbled by his love and friendship.
Drake loved music, listening to rock, post grunge metal, folk, and blues and watching concert DVDs. Another one of his favorite activities growing up was therapeutic horseback riding.
Drake is survived by his parents, Bob and Janet Frey, his twin brother, Barry, as well as three grandparents, Vida Skorburg, Steve Frey, and Terry Anderson, as well as various aunts and uncles.
As a legacy, his parents will be purchasing and donating a Norwegian Fjord horse to Alatheia Riding Center, in Wenatchee, WA. The horse's name will be "Sir Drake."
