Drew Sloan Hardgrove

Drew Sloan Hardgrove, age 74, Harrodsburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born June 30, 1947 in Danville, he was the son of the late Charles Sloan and Helen M (Pollard) Hardgrove. He was a graduate of Danville High School and received a master's degree from the University of Kentucky. He taught in the Danville Independent School District, worked for the US Peace Corps in Africa, was an employee for American Express, the Local Cable services, Merkle and Lifeline. Drew enjoyed literature, being a swim team coach, theatre, Socioeconomics, foreign affairs, architecture, history, Oktoberfest, spending time with his dogs, volunteering for Heritage Hospice, and being with his grand nieces and nephew.
Survivors include two nieces Kathryn H. Dunn and her husband Brian of Lancaster along with their children Hannah, Isabel, Madeline and Asher Dunn; Amanda H. Cardwell and her husband Wally; one nephew William K. Hainsworth and he was also survived by a special friend Cynthia Carr of Harrodsburg. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Charlotte Hainsworth.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 beginning at 5:00 pm at Sims Funeral services by Bro. Stephen Brogli. Burial will be held during a family service at the Mt Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery located next to Drew's old farm in Dugansville (Mercer County) Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Heritage Hospice, 120 Enterprise Drive, Danville, KY 40422.
