On September 16, 2025, Drexel Henry Brock, at the age of 97, slipped peacefully into eternity and is now finally home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "Yes, we are of good courage and would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8). Born on November 14, 1927, in Washington County, Drexel grew up on his parents' farm, where he learned a work ethic that served him well the rest of his life. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, easy smile, and vise-like grip. In addition, Drexel will be remembered as being a hard worker and a man of integrity and fortitude. He was a kind and generous man, a loyal friend, a patriot who proudly served his country during WWII, and a loving husband and father. What he would want to be most remembered for, however, is that he chose Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior. His desire was that every one of his loved ones would do likewise.

He was preceded in death by his parents Angus Brock and Laura White Brock; his brothers Clarence, Ned, Dick, Josh, J. N., Hurdis, Bill, and James; and his loving wife Ollie Dorch Brock.

Drexel is survived by son Doug Brock (Angie) and daughter Gwen Brock Kenton (Craig), as well as grandchildren Candice Kenton Ramey (Chris), Ben Brock (Amy), Ashley Brock Baca (Nathaniel), and Mandy Brock. Grandson Daniel Kenton (Brooke) passed away in 2018. Drexel had eight great grandchildren: Chase Jackson (Alyssa), Patrick Jackson (Madi), Remington Montague, Addison Brock, Rogan Brock, Aria Baca, Leo Baca, and Bella Hoke. Drexel also had three great great-grandchildren: Bjorn Jackson, Andrew Jackson, and Oliver Jackson.

At Drexel's request, he was buried quietly and simply on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Weeks Cemetery in Vernon preceded by a brief graveside service held for the immediate family. For those who wish to do so, the family is requesting that donations be made in Drexel's memory to St. Jude's Hospital, Tunnels to Towers Foundation, or Samaritan's Purse. Helping those in real need was always important to Drexel Henry Brock, and many have benefited from his and his wife's generosity over the years. "You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God" (2 Corinthians 9:11).
