Du Van Tran Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory - Souderton on Feb. 23, 2026.
Tran Van Du, 84, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, formerly of Telford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Abington-Lansdale Hospital in Lansdale.

He was the devoted husband of the late Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. Born in Quang Ngai, Vietnam, he was the son of the late Tran Van Phu and the late Tran Thi Thiet.

Du graduated from high school in Vietnam and proudly served in the Vietnam Army during the Vietnam War. In his early years, he worked as both an ambulance driver and taxi driver in Vietnam. In 1980, he immigrated to the United States in pursuit of new opportunities for his family. He was first employed at MOPAC in Souderton and later dedicated more than 25 years as a factory worker with Clemens Food Group before retiring in 2006. Even in retirement, Du remained active in his community, volunteering his time at the Hatfield Rubber Company.

He was a faithful member of Minh Dang Quang Temple in Telford. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life.

Du found joy in traveling, gardening, reading, cooking, exercising, walking, and working with his hands. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. He was known as a hardworking, thoughtful, and generous man - encouraging, inquisitive, philosophical, and deeply family-oriented. His optimism and forgiving spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his nine children: Tran Thi Ngoc Xuan, Tran Thi Ngoc Lan, and Tran Khanh Tan, all of Vietnam; Tran Khanh Nhut of Hatfield, PA; Tran Thi Ngoc Dung of Souderton, PA; Tran Thi Ngoc Anh and Tran Thi Ngoc Huong, both of Lansdale, PA; Mai Ngoc Diane of Brookhaven, PA; and Wong Julie Nguyen of Warminster, PA; along with 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Du was preceded in death by three brothers.

A vigil and Buddhist funeral rites will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad Street, Souderton, PA 18964. A second vigil and cremation service will take place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.andersfh.com.
