Duain Freeman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Westbrook Funeral Home - Hazen on Jan. 28, 2026.
Duain Page Freeman, age 80, of Carlisle, Arkansas, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on August 29, 1945, in Woolum, Arkansas to Page and Verna Freeman.

Duain accepted Jesus as his savior at 11 years of age and a strong sense of God's merciful love was forever the bedrock of his life. The fruit of Christ's love in him was humility, integrity, good humored kindness, and a life of constant service to those around him.
He served his community with courage and ingenuity as a policeman, firefighter, city councilman, devoted church member, and as an Airman First Class during the Vietnam war. He will be best remembered for his 45 years of customer service as an electrician in and around the city of Carlisle, a work that he continued to do from his big silver "workvan" well into the last months of his life.
For all his public service and hard work, Duain's family was always his highest priority. He was preceded in death by his parents, Page and Verna, and by his brother, Franklin. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie, his son Dustin, daughter-in-law Beth, and five grandsons: Elijah, Gideon, Ames, Christian, and Isaiah. To his family he was "Bop," a man who could do seemingly anything, and who would do anything for them without a moment's hesitation.

Duain was a grounded person who radiated safety and stability, but he was also a wild, free soul who loved motorcycles and fast cars; who picked up snow skiing in his 50s and went straight to the backcountry. He was a man of deep reverence with a twinkle of good-trouble in his eye. He made the world, and our lives, better and he will be deeply missed. We look to the hope of the Resurrection and know that we will see him again in Glory.

Services for Duain will be Wednesday, February 4, 2026 with a visitation beginning at 1:00PM and a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00PM held at Lonoke Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lonoke Baptist Church's "Greater Things" fund. (www.lonokebaptist.org/give)

Dustin, with many prayers of hope and trust as your dad is now face to face with the One we love. May sweet memories bring you and your mom comfort and peace as Jesus is with you. We are never ready, but it is our joy to know we´ll see our loved ones on the other side.
