Duane Reynolds "R.D." Silverton

Silverton- Duane "R.D." Reynolds, age 89, of Silverton passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Silverton. Interment will follow at the Silverton Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Moore-Rose Visitation Parlor in Silverton. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Duane "R.D." Reynolds was born on February 6, 1933, in Texola, Oklahoma, to M.G. and Bernice Reynolds. He attended Samnorwood High School and graduated in 1951. After graduating from Texas Tech in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree, he was drafted into the United States Army and served until 1957, after which he married the love of his life, Shirley Mullins. He was a hard-working man and had many talents. Over the years, he worked as a teacher, basketball coach, jr. high principal, carpenter, painter, and roofer, as well as at the funeral home. His hobbies included cooking, woodworking, fishing, visiting with friends at the hospital, and caring for families at the funeral home. He was a member and a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Silverton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, M.G. and Bernice Reynolds, and his wife, Shirley Reynolds.
Those left to cherish the wonderful memory of Duane are his son, Darrell Reynolds and wife Dianne of Silverton, Texas; his daughter, Jan Sanders and husband Herb of Amarillo, Texas; his 6 grandchildren, Daryl-Ann Heinrich and husband Logan, Jesse Reynolds and wife Brittany, Cheyenne Berggren and husband Ross, Sydney Gress and husband Tyler, Blake Sanders and wife Jessica, Michelle Bradford and husband Austin; his 10 great-grandchildren, Rowan Heinrich, Olivia Heinrich, Lila Heinrich, Naomi Berggren, Ryekr Gress, Jude Reynolds, Easton Sanders, Caden Sanders, Jaime Bradford, Peter Bradford; two brothers, Jerry Reynolds of Amarillo, Texas, and Darrell "Butch" Reynolds of Tahoka, Texas; and his sister-in-law Ann Newman of Odessa, Texas.
