Dudley Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Jan. 10, 2026.
Dudley Warren Davis, Jr. passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 79 in Palm Harbor, Florida. Born on May 30, 1946, in Belleville, Illinois. Dudley's life was one marked by service, dedication to family and adventure.
Dudley was born in Belleville, Illinois before moving with his family to England. He spent his early years living North of London before returning to the states and attending high school in Tampa, Florida. His academic pursuits led him to Southern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Upon completing his education, Dudley honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
In his professional life, Dudley embarked on a successful career in printing sales, where he had the opportunity to travel extensively. As a result, he instilled in his daughters a love for travel.
Upon retirement, Dudley found a new calling with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a dedicated volunteer member for nearly 20 years, where he was involved in everything from operations to search and rescues and training junior members. His exceptional service earned him numerous awards, and he often spoke of this time as the most fulfilling of his career.
Dudley's enthusiasm for life extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He was an avid car lover and an SEC Porsche race car driver from 1970 to 1984. His passion for automobiles didn't wane with the end of his racing days; he became a devoted BMW enthusiast and a longtime member of the BMW car club. When he wasn't discussing cars, Dudley could be found indulging his love for nature and wildlife photography.
A true outdoorsman, Dudley also cherished his time on the water. As a boater and fisherman, he spent countless hours fishing and boating with friends and family, and if he was not out on the water, you could find him working on his boat. His involvement with the Coast Guard was not only a duty but a pleasure, as it combined his love for boating with his desire to serve others.
Family was Dudley's pride and joy. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Jackie Davis, and their daughters, Stephanie (Kristopher) Kasper and Michelle (Tim Laughlin) Davis. His grandchildren, Rory Laughlin, Calvin Laughlin, and Liam Kasper, brought him immense happiness and pride. Dudley also leaves behind his brothers, Jack (Kristin) Davis, Danny (Linda) Jones, and Robert Davis, along with many nieces and nephews whom he adored deeply.
Dudley will be missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his service to others and dedication to family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dudley's memory may be made to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for Animal Care/Rescue. Please note "In Memory of Dudley Davis" in the comment section.

January 11, 2026

My name is Rich Miccio, I am a former Member of the Tarpon Springs Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-9 and was active from 2008-2016.
When I enrolled, Dudley was there to greet me, and when the time came for me to dis-enroll, Dudley was still active.
He dedicated 20 years and thousands of Volunteer Hours to the Auxiliary and to the Active USCG Gold Side.
With Dudley as Coxswain, and with the 11-9 Crew in his boat, we accomplished many Training Scenarios along with Search and Rescue Missions in the Gulf of America.
His knowledge experience and expertise was respected by all Members under all circumstances.
There were three of us from 11-9 in the back row today at his Memorial Service, his daughters Michelle and Stephanie, did a wonderful job with the recognition they gave their Dad, in more ways than one.
They did a great job with something so close to their hearts, it was not easy, I´m sure.
We wanted to say something, but emotionally, we could not.
What we can do, and will, is pray for peace in the hearts of Jackie, Michelle, Stephanie and all members of the Davis Family.
We are so sorry for your loss, Dudley leaves us all with the Memory of a great man in all areas of life, Family and Friends.
Rest in Peace Brother.
Thank you for your Friendship.
Rich
