Dung Le Nguyen beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, departed this world on August 26, 2023. Dung was born in Hue, Vietnam on February 10, 1939 to Tu Nguyen and Ut Truong. She was a talented seamstress and owner of a shop in Saigon, Vietnam. She and her family made a harrowing escape from Vietnam in 1976. After reaching the US, she and her family lived in New York City for a time before settling in Salina, KS permanently. She worked at Tony's Pizza until her retirement in 1998.
Her life always centered around her faith and family. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church and devoted much of her time to prayer. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and family gatherings.
Dung is preceded in death by her mother Ut Truong, father Tu Nguyen, brother Minh Nguyen, husband Niem Nguyen, son Dung Nguyen,.
Survivors include her brother Cong Nguyen (Huong Phan) of Atlanta, GA, Son Duong (wife of Minh Nguyen) of Salina, KS, son Joseph Nguyen (Julie) of Andover, KS and John Nguyen (Ashley) of Lenexa, KS and grandchildren Lucas, Alex and Scarlett.
Viewing and Visitation is Friday, September 1, 2023 from 10:00am - 1:00pm at Roselawn Memorial Chapel at 1920 E. Crawford, Salina, KS. Family and friends are welcome to enjoy luncheon together in the Friendship Room after the viewing and visitation. Funeral service will be Friday, September 1, 2023 at 3:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 230 E Cloud St, Salina, KS. Interment to follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff and caregivers of Harry Hynes Hospice of Wichita for the wonderful care Dung during her last days. Please consider making a small donation to Harry Hynes Hospice in lieu of flowers in her memory if you feel inclined.
