Dusan Petkovic

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Dušan Petkovic, who left us on July 5, 2025, at the age of 86, after a brief and serious illness.
Dusan was born on June 27, 1939, in Tuzla in the former Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Medical High School in Tuzla and then from the Higher Medical School in Sarajevo. Shortly after completing his military service, he was employed as a sanitary inspector for the Yugoslav Railways, where he spent most of his working life. He spent years during the war in the former Yugoslavia as a refugee, and at the age of 59, emigrated to the United States with his closest family, where he began a new life.
He met his wife Manda in 1967 and together they spent 58 years filled with love through good and hard times.
Throughout his life, Dušan loved to spend time surrounded by his closest family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Mia and Staša. He loved football and movies, and he passed that love on to his son, Borislav.
He spent his last days surrounded by his closest family and friends. He is survived by his wife Manda, son Borislav, daughter-in-law Svjetlana and granddaughters Mia and Stasha and relatives from the Krtolica and Franjic families.
The funeral service and burial will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 3410 S Highland Drive, Millcreek on Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m.

S dubokom tugom javljamo da je Dušan Petkovic preminuo 5. jula 2025. godine, u 87 godini života, nakon kratke i ozbiljne bolesti.
Dušan je roden 27. juna 1939. godine u Tuzli, u bivšoj Jugoslaviji. Završio je Medicinsku srednju školu u Tuzli, a zatim Višu medicinsku školu u Sarajevu. Nakon odsluženog vojnog roka, zaposlio se kao sanitarni inspektor za Jugoslavenske Željeznice, gdje je proveo vecinu svog radnog vijeka. Tokom rata u bivšoj Jugoslaviji bio je izbjeglica, a sa 59 godina emigrirao je u Sjedinjene Americke Države sa najbližom porodicom, gdje je zapoceo novi život.
Svoju suprugu Mandu upoznao je 1967. godine, i zajedno su proveli 58 godina ispunjenih ljubavlju – i u dobru i u zlu.
Kroz cijeli život, Dušan je volio biti okružen najbližom porodicom i prijateljima. Posebno je uživao provodeci vrijeme sa svojim unukama Miom i Stashom. Volio je nogomet i filmove, a tu ljubav prenio je i na svog sina Borislava.
Posljednje dane proveo je okružen svojom najbližom porodicom i prijateljima. Iza njega ostaju supruga Manda, sin Borislav, snaha Svjetlana, unuke Mia i Stasha, te rodbina iz porodica Krtolica i Franjic.
Sahrana ce se održati na groblju Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3410 S Highland Drive, Millcreek, u cetvrtak, 10. jula, u 11 sati.
