Dustin Dwaine Fluit, 40, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, at his home after a valiant battle with colon cancer with loved ones by his side. Dustin was born September 24, 1983, in Springfield, MO to Dwaine and Lynette (Wendlandt) Fluit of Hermitage, MO.
Dustin graduated from Marshfield High-school in 2002 where he excelled as an offensive guard for the Marshfield Bluejays where they won back to back District Championships and the COC title his senior year. He loved cars from an early age and it brought him joy being able to work on them with his father and, later on in life, his son Haidyn.
Dustin went on to pour his heart into his work at Rost Ready-mix, where his dedication and enthusiasm were an inspiration to his colleagues. It was more than a job for Dustin; it was a platform to connect with others and make a positive impact on his community.
To know Dustin was to know laughter, joy, and the unshakable strength of a faith-filled heart. He took the role of fatherhood as a sacred honor, dedicating himself to nurturing and guiding his seven children on a path of kindness and integrity. He loved and cherished his precious children, and they loved and cherished him. As a husband, his love was deep and steadfast, a source of comfort and joy to his beloved Jennifer.
Dustin's life was a tapestry woven with threads of humor, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to his faith. His laughter was a balm to the weary, his counsel a source of wisdom, and his presence a reminder of God's love in action. He was a man who lived by example, showing us all how to love unconditionally and serve wholeheartedly.
A man of deep spiritual conviction, Dustin loved the Lord with all his heart. His life was a living testament to the grace of God. He lived by the words of the great evangelist Billy Graham, who once said, "God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, 'I love you.'" Dustin's mission was to share this message of divine love with as many souls as would listen.
Dustin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bud and Geraldine Wendlandt, paternal Grandfather Wilmer Fluit, his uncle Ron Wendlandt, and cousin Angela Simons. He is survived by his devoted wife Jennifer Fluit, his precious children Haidyn, Emma, Sara, and Liam of Marshfield. His bonus children, Evan, Jocelyn, and Annalise of Marshfield. Grandmother Sylvia Fluit, parents Dwaine and Lynette Fluit, brothers Lance, Jeremie, and Jamie Fluit all of Iowa. Sisters Summer Kiser and husband Kevin of Strafford and Tiffany Bradshaw of Hermitage, as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
As we bid farewell to Dustin Dwaine Fluit, let us not dwell on the sorrow of his departure but celebrate the profound impact of his time among us. He has left this world richer for his presence and has entered into the glory of the Lord, where he shall dwell in eternal peace and joy. His legacy will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be a guiding light, leading us ever closer to the love of God. Amen.
