Dustin Michael Fross, 40, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Born on February 22, 1985, Dustin was the beloved son of Karla Rohr Fross and Stephen Fross. He graduated from Salina Central High School in 2003 and remained a proud member of the community throughout his life.
Dustin was a man of many passions. He found joy in the outdoors and had so many adventures – hiking, camping, playing rugby and spending time with family and friends. He was also a gifted cook, known especially for his signature jalapeño cheddar sourdough bread, a recipe he perfected and shared with those he loved. Dustin cherished his cats and was beloved by many children for his playfulness.
Dustin brightened the lives of those around him with his caring heart and ability to make others laugh. He was one of a kind and made everyone around him happy.
Dustin is survived by his mother, Karla Fross; his sister, Kelly Echternacht, and her husband David; and his adored nieces, Brooke and Claire Echternacht, who lovingly called him their ‘Eagle’ Dustin. Dustin also leaves behind many extended family members and close friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Fross.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” ~ Matthew 11:28-30
