Dustin Lamar "Dusty" Yearty

Dustin Lamar "Dusty" Yearty, age 43, of Cochran, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Following the service, the family will greet friends at Mathis Funeral Home.
Born in Macon and a lifelong resident of Cochran, Dusty graduated from Bleckley County High School in 2000. He was employed at Robins Air Force Base.
Dusty was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldawgs and found great joy in cheering for his favorite team. His enthusiasm for the game was something he loved to share with those around him.
He was known for his strong work ethic and steadfast belief in perseverance-principles he passed on to his sons through both his words and actions. His deep love for his boys was evident in every part of his life.
Dusty and Tammy Barlow Yearty shared a deep and enduring bond. They were not only husband and wife but also best friends and constant companions. Their partnership was marked by unwavering loyalty and shared values that strengthened their connection through every season of life. Together, they raised their sons, Dustin Lamar "D.J." Yearty Jr. and Bo Yearty, with love and dedication.
Dusty was the son of the late O.R. Yearty, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Barlow Yearty of Cochran; his sons, D.J. and Bo Yearty, both of Cochran; his mother, Dianne Thigpen of Cochran; his sisters, Dee Yearty and Dana (Jeffery) Salaz of Cochran; and his niece and nephews, Bristol Salaz, Brantley Salaz, and Dawson Jarrell-all of Cochran.
The family will be receiving visitors at 223 Cliff Barlow Road and 305 Antioch Road in Cochran.
