Dwain Dee Bethards

Dwain Dee Bethards, 80, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri passed away on June 24, 2025 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. Dwain was born to Dwain E. Bethards and Delores J. (Wensel) Bethards on September 15, 1944 in Leon, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Marjorie L. Rowe on June 4, 1966.
Dwain grew up in Excelsior Springs. He was a mechanic and carpenter by trade. He enjoyed traveling the world and participating in social gatherings with friends and family. Dwain was an enthusiast of fast cars, guns, and global arts. He will be remembered as a fun-loving character who didn't know a stranger and easily made new friends. He enjoyed giving silly nicknames to those he cared for and always checked on his people ensuring they knew how loved they were.
He was a devoted family man who was blessed with a large and loving family. Dwain was father to Dawn Farmer (Mike) of Rayville, MO., Matt Bethards (Chondra) of Lawson, MO. and Elizabeth Carr (Josh) of Lawson, MO. Dwain also experienced the joy of becoming a grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Dwain was survived by two children, Dawn Farmer and Beth Carr (Josh), daughter-in-law, Chondra Bethards, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Other survivors include brother, Dennis Bethards, and sister, Deborah Bethards of Excelsior Springs, MO and brother-in-law Jerry Churchwell of Tulsa, Oklahoma along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwain and Delores Bethards, siblings Don Bethards and Deanna Churchwell and son, Matthew D. Bethards.
