Dwain peacefully transitioned into God's loving arms on Wednesday January 29, 2025. He was born July 25, 1953 to the union of the Late Yvonne Lightfoot Brown and Tommie Lee Brown in New Orleans, Louisiana, their first born of 4. Dwain was baptized at an early age at Historic Second Baptist Church by Rev. Thomas Nelson Washington. He was very active in church leadership groups, Sunday school, vacation bible school and even sang in choirs all over the city of New Orleans with the late Raymond Myles.
Dwain was educated in the Orleans Parish Public School System. He attended Francis T. Nicholls, Class of 1971. He also attended SUNO, where he acquired his Bachelors Degree. He worked for Amoco oil for 25yrs as a seismic technologist and then as security officer for 5yrs at Whitney Bank, where he retired. Dwain was mild mannered and pleasant spirited, loved to dance, spending time with his son and grandchildren, playing cards and dominoes, hanging out with family and friends, seeing everyone gathered together. Dwain had a heart for people and also a love for his home team, The New Orleans Saints, even though many times they could nearly give him a heart attack.
On January 29, 2025 at the age of 71, Dwain returned peacefully from labor to reward. He was preceded in death by his parents Yvonne and Tommie Lee Brown and Maternal and Paternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memories his only son, Glenn L. Laugand (Uniquika Hollins); 3 devoted siblings, Darryl Brown, Keith Brown, and loving sister, Kim Brown Bryant; grandchildren, Alaya J. Tanksley, Glenn L. Laugand Jr., Gaven Dwain Laugand; nieces, Brandi Gray Davis (Brian), Brittany Brown; nephew, Lance Brown; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
We invite Family and Friends to join us in a Homegoing Celebration Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 1:00PM, at Professional Funeral Services, 1449 N. Claiborne Ave. Visitation starts at 12:00PM.

Dear Brown Family and Friends, as you mourn for your beloved, also rejoice with the angels in heaven for he now sits in the Presence of God. Imagine the joy he must be experiencing just to look upon His Face! Remember, you are not on this journey alone; because God loves you, He is always with you and will Comfort you with His Peace.
