Dwaine A. Brugger

Dwaine was born on the family farm in Alliance, OH on March 4, 1938, to Samuel A. and Cleo L. (Grant) Brugger.

He was a 1956 graduate of Alliance High School and was a Repairman for the Timken Company for 39 years with the majority of time spent at the Gambrinus Bearing Plant. In May, 1997, he received the Timken Dedication to Excellence Award. He enjoyed his job immensely and often said that he would "do it all over again". While working at the Timken Company, he also farmed for 53 years on his own farm. Dwaine also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years. He served one term as President of the Washington Twp. Historical Society and for several years he pulled the Historical Society's float in the Alliance Carnation Festival parade and in the Louisville Constitution parade with his 1655 Oliver tractor.

Dwaine is survived by his wife, Twila "Darlene" (Hershey) Brugger with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage on September 28, 2024; a daughter, Brenda (Tom) Irwin; a son, Brent (Beth Robertson); 6 grandchildren, Paige (Kenny) Shaffer, Grant Irwin, Braxton, Blaine, Brennan, and Briella Brugger; a great-granddaughter, Anna Shaffer; with a great-grandson due in June; a brother, Dwight (Ruth Ann) Brugger; and a sister, Irene Harris.

Long-time friend, Larry Karlen, will conduct the service and the burial will be in the Freeburg Church of the Brethren Cemetery where he had been sexton for approximately 8 years.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, June 6th at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
