The family would like to announce the passing of Robert Dwayne LaFleur, who left us peacefully on January 26, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on September 9, 1963, in Oakdale, LA, to Robert LaFleur and Rebecca Caughron Falls.
Dwayne proudly served in the Marines, enlisting on November 24, 1981, and earning the rank of Lance Corporal before he was honorably discharged on November 23, 1985. After his military service, he became an accomplished aircraft mechanic, passionately dedicated to his craft and the aviation industry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Derinda"Dee" LaFleur; his cherished children, Lisa (Blaine) Blanchard and Casey (Vickie) LaFleur; his sister, Kim (Don) Carter; and his grandchildren: Alexis (Joby) Martin, Bryanah (Blake) Martin, Alyssa Martin, Briley Martin, Amber Bush, Billy Jo (Terry) LeJeune, Jacob (Victoria) Bush, Nick Bush; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He leaves behind countless friends and family who will miss his warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness.
Dwayne was a dedicated member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and was active with the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3012 and the Tongues of Fire Prayer Group at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He touched the lives of many in our community and was a shining example of faith and service.
A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on January 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM, preceded by a rosary at 1:30 PM. We invite all who knew him to join us in celebrating his life and sharing their memories.
Robert's spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, and he will be dearly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Cody Ryan LaFleur.
Dwayne's family will be forever indebted for the compassionate care delivered by his CNA, Angel, his hospice nurse, Jen Quebedeaux, and his personal nurse and granddaughter, Bryanah Martin.
