Dwayne Ray Morrison, 65, of
New London, MO, passed away at 3:23 AM, Thursday, January 1, 2026, peacefully held in the arms of his loving wife.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, January 8, 2026, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in
Hannibal, MO. Pastor Chris Lefever will officiate.
Friends and Family are invited to join Dwayne's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home.
Dwayne was born October 2, 1960 at St Elizabeth hospital in
Hannibal, MO to Wayne Ray Morrison and Bonnie Jean (Lake) Morrison.
Married to his loving wife, of almost 35 years, Debbi (McMillin) Morrison, survives.
Survived by his four children, Pricella Murphy (Michael) of
New London, MO, Emerson Morrison (Danielle) of
New London, MO, Anthony Morrison (Casey) of Greenfield, MO, and Timothy Morrison (Kenda) of
Hannibal, MO; nine grandchildren, Lizzy, Nevaeh, Drake, Daniel, Rowdy, Hazel, Carter, Alastair, and Strutyn; and three great grandchildren, Archer, Evanora, one on the way, and all the "adopted" sons that he loved through the years. He is also survived his mother-in-law, Patricia McMillin, nieces, nephews, and everyone in the extended McMillin, Morrison, Lake, and Stout clan; and the many family and friends prayer warriors.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Bonnie Morrison, his father-in-law David McMillin; two sisters, Jeanice Folsom and Elizabeth Morrison; and a granddaughter, Summers Morrison.
Professionally, Dwayne was a Master Printer. Throughout his career he printed such publications as Missouri Conservation, Time Magazine, and News Week. His skills in mechanics made him a key component of his team. Stories of Dwayne being woken up in the middle of the night to give the night crew advice on how to fix machines were plentiful.
Renowned for his culinary skills, Dwayne was an artist in the kitchen, skillfully preparing beloved dishes such as chicken and rice, Mexican chili, and biscuits and gravy. Dwayne also enjoyed tending the grill to create barbecue, Smoked chicken and a good rare steak for his wife. Dwayne had a strong passion for travel that took him throughout the United States. Alaska held a particular special place in his heart. Each journey adding to the stories Dwayne, his wife and their family cherish. Dwayne also had a deep connection to the outdoors and Scouting. Dwayne enjoyed dirt track races, fishing, and camping. Dwayne camped in all manner of weather and environment, from pop-up tents to cabins.
Dwayne's involvement in his children's lives was a testament to his dedication as a father. He was a fixture at their sports events and activities, always there to lend support, celebrate their victories, and offer a comforting presence in times of challenge. Those who knew Dwayne were touched by his kind heart and spoke volumes of his acts of kindness. As a gentle giant, his quiet and reserved demeanor, showed no judgment, meeting everyone with an open heart and mind. Above all, Dwayne cherished all the memories made with his wife, their family and his friends. Dwayne will be deeply missed.
