ylan Mathew Petersen, born April 21, 2004, in Pensacola, Florida, entered into eternal rest on February 1, 2024. He was raised in Frederick, Colorado, where he flourished as a beloved son, brother, and friend. Dylan's journey began at Sacred Heart Hospital, where he brought immeasurable joy to his parents, Thorpe Leroy Petersen Jr. and Jeanette Yvonne (Petersen) Sciara.
Dylan's education was marked by determination and success. He attended Frederick High School and graduated from LaunchEd Virtual Academy in 2022, where he exhibited a profound commitment to learning and growth. His aspirations led him to be accepted at Western Governors University, where he planned to pursue his passion for Cyber Security, a field he was eager to explore and contribute to.
Throughout his life, Dylan embraced various interests and hobbies with enthusiasm and dedication. An accomplished musician, he began playing the drums at the age of six and continued to cultivate his musical talents. In middle and high school, he showcased his musical versatility by playing the trombone and drums, captivating audiences with his performances. His love for music extended to the piano and guitar, where he found solace and expression.
In addition to his musical talents, Dylan possessed a keen intellect and a natural affinity for technology. He was drawn to computers from an early age, often spending hours building and tinkering with them. Video games, particularly Beat Saber, provided him with endless entertainment and challenge. Dylan's love for the digital world fueled his desire to pursue a career in Cyber Security, where he hoped to make meaningful contributions and advancements.
Beyond his academic and technological pursuits, Dylan found joy in the great outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, and shooting, finding peace and adventure in nature's embrace. His cherished Rubicon Jeep was a symbol of his love and desire for exploration and freedom, he had plans for countless adventures and road trips. Dylan was inspired by the Japanese culture and was studying Japanese extensively with plans to travel to Japan.
Dylan's spirit of kindness, generosity, and resilience touched the lives of all who knew him. His warm smile and compassionate heart left an indelible mark on the world, and his memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving parents, Thorpe Leroy Petersen Jr. (Liliana Petersen) and Jeanette Sciara (David Sciara); his brothers and step-siblings, Brandon Petersen, Nathan Petersen (Alyssa Fitzingo), and Ryan Petersen, stepsister Daniela Ruiz Giraldo, stepbrother David Ruiz, stepsister Valencia Sciara; his grandparents, Thorpe Petersen Sr. (Francisca Petersen) and Jeri Jones (David Jones); and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will carry his legacy forward with love and admiration.
In honoring Dylan's memory, let us celebrate the vibrant life he lived and the profound impact he had on those around him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us, guiding us towards the light even in the darkest of times. Rest in peace, Dylan. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
