Christine Alice Roybal (Alvarado), a cherished member of the Arvada community and a devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, at the age of 85 at home surrounded by family. Born on June 21, 1939, in Frederick, Colorado, Christine dedicated much of her life to nurturing her family.
Following her retirement in 1990 from a rewarding career as a telecommunications supervisor at US West, Christine devoted her newfound time to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored immensely. Her dedication to family was evident as she played a pivotal role in their upbringing, leaving a legacy of love and caring that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Christine's passion for travel saw her exploring new places with her beloved husband, Gilbert Roybal, and their family, often on memorable cruises that brought them closer together. A devout Catholic, she attended weekly Mass at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, and instilled those Catholic values in the generations that followed.
Christine was a graduate of Frederick High School, where she began laying the foundations for her future achievements.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Gilbert, sons Eugene and Gilbert, and daughter-in-law Jennifer. Her memory will also be cherished by her granddaughters Robin Roybal (Kiel Michener), Christa Roybal McNevin (Corey McNevin), Rayna Roybal, and Nichole Roybal Williams, as well as her great-grandchildren Michael, Mason, Anastasia, Amelia, and Aidan. Christine also leaves behind her brother John and sisters Frances, Mary, and Virginia. She is preceded in death by her son Ernest Roybal.
The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects at a viewing scheduled for 10:00am on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. A reception will follow the Mass at the same location, and the burial will take place at Ft. Logan Cemetery, where Christine will be laid to rest. Christine's life and legacy will be celebrated and remembered as an embodiment of devotion, love.
