Effie Lorraine Bolinger, 87, formerly of Nortonville, KS, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025, at the F.W. Huston Nursing Center, Winchester, KS.
A graveside service and burial will be at Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, KS, with Rev. Robert McGuire officiating at 10:00AM June 6, 2025. Memorials are suggested to Ascend Hospice and may be sent in the care of the O'Trimble Funeral Home, Nortonville, KS, who are handling the arrangements. Lorraine was born on December 1, 1937, in Nortonville, KS, the daughter of William and Fern (Brey) Jones. She grew up in Nortonville, KS and graduated from Nortonville High School. Lorraine was the Housekeeping Supervisor for Village Villa in Nortonville. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, doing chores with her husband, taking care of her two children and her chickens.
Effie married J L Bolinger on October 1, 1955; he preceded her on December 24, 2009. Survivors include a son J L Wayne and Beth Bolinger, Lansing, KS, four grandchildren Jill, Sarah, Curtis, and Matthew, three great-grandchildren Zoe, Brett, and Henry two brothers, Max and Mike Jones and two sisters Marilyn Wylie and Janice Miller.
She was preceded by her parents, a daughter Annette Barnes, two brothers, Wendell and Paul Jones and a sister, Ruth Wheeler.
