E. Charlene Wright, 78, Denver, Indiana, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at her residence.
Born August 28, 1946, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter Omer Clyde and Dorothy Samantha (Spradlin) Sparks. On June 26, 1964, in Fulton County, Indiana, she was married to James E. Wright, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1999.
She graduated from Peru High School in 1964 and had been a member of the former Skinner Chapel. Over the years she had worked at Kofabco and in the cafeteria at North Miami High School. Charlene enjoyed baking, reading, sewing, and listening to Elvis. She loved to spend time around the house, whether it was working in her flower beds, gardening, listening to Elvis, or looking forward to Christmas-in-July to watch all the Hallmark Christmas movies.
Survivors include her one son, Mike (Wendy) Wright, Rochester; one daughter, Deanna Miller, Denver; nine grandchildren, Britney Miller, Denver; Reba Miller, Denver; Ariana Wright, Logansport; John E. Miller, Denver; Michael Wright, Rochester; Emma Wright, Rochester; Christopher Wright, Rochester; Kiyah Wright, Rochester; and Dakota Wright, Rochester; and two great grandchildren, Liam Ricket and Emiliano Sanchez; one sister, Darlene Hoyle, Logansport; bonus family members, Baileigh Ricket and Christopher Mitchell and a host of former foster-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews; her dog, Dallas; and a “couple” feline friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Eugene Sparks; and one sister, Alice Faye Stewart.
A service will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, followed by a time of viewing until 7:00 p.m. Her nephew, James Stewart, officiating.
The family will also be hosting a Celebration of Life memorial gathering from 2-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Denver Baptist Church
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Scratching Post or the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center.
