E. Bob Mabry was born to the union of Elmer (Suga' Daddy) Mabry and Lillian (Motha') Mabry, April 19, 1933, in Crowley, Louisiana and was the first of seven children.
The Family moved to Richmond, California in 1944, when Bob was 11 years old. He attended Kennedy Elementary School; he also attended El Cerrito High School where he played basketball and received many accolades and was even in the local newspaper.
Bob entered the Army in 1951 where he served during the Korean War and received the Army Occupation Medal (Okinawa, Japan) and National Defense Service Medal. He loved to share his stories of playing the military snare drums and fellowshipping with his band of brothers while in the Army. After being honorably discharged in 1953, he then reenlisted in the Army reserve where he recieved his Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and ranked Staff Sergeant before his final honorable discharge in 1959.
He loved the Lord early on, receiving Christ as his personal Savior at the tender age of seven. As he came of age, with God remaining his focus, Bob served the ministry in various capacities, like on the Deacon Board, as Church Secretary, Associate Pastor, and appointed State Choir Director in the state of Nevada. He received his Minister's license and received his Doctorate Degree in Divinity of Ministry. Preached at various churches, volunteered at Gospel Missions, and availed himself to be a beacon of light wherever he was lead.
Bob was always an entrepreneur, owning various businesses, but primarily in Construction, specifically in the area of drywall, taping, and painting. He was surely multifaceted and excelled in many areas of business. Mr. Mabry also received his Associate Arts college degree in the Industrial Arts at the age of 80 from San Jose City College.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children: daughter, Lynn Mabry; daughter, Marianne Hamilton-Mabry; son, Roderick Mabry; daughter, (Baby) Cheryl Mabry Chase and Son-in-law, Kevin Chase and the Late Gerric Mabry, son. His grandchildren: Akasha Hendrix, Darryn Hamilton, Arianna Bush, Charrelle Ervin, Kiana Ryan, Jason Scott, Jarick Mabry, Mason Mabry, Taylor Mabry, Symphony (Cupcake) Mabry, and Ericka Mabry. His great-grandchildren: Jayden Mabry Harris, Armani Mabry Jackson, Junie Hendrix, Dreyson Hamilton, Jordyn Mabry Jackson, Osbourne Hendrix, Davyn Hamilton, Koda Raashad, Daxon Hamilton, and Jason T.C.
