E. Barbra "Barb" Zarek

E. Barbra 'Barb' Zarek, age 87 of Bath, NY passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Fred and Harriett Taylor Health Center. Born on February 3, 1937 in Lindley, NY, she was the daughter of the late Delos and Faye (Morseman) Garner. Barb was a graduate of Addison Central High School and later attended the nursing program at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She married Killian Zarek in July of 1982. He predeceased her on August 18, 2014.
Barb worked as a nurse for Arnot Ogden Medical Center and Campbell-Savona School District before relocating to South Carolina and working for Blue Cross-Blue Shield, retiring in 2002. Barb loved to travel. Throughout the years, she and her husband took trips throughout the states and Canada, including Alaska and many trips in their RV to Edisto beach in South Carolina. In later years, she enjoyed sewing and other crafts.
Barb is survived by her son, Gregory M. (Melanie) Zarek of Beverly Hills, FL; daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Dimaggio of Columbia, SC; grandchildren: Adam Dimaggio, Dustin and Rhianne Zarek; siblings: Joyce Ralurson of Jacksonville, FL, Delores Space of Bath, NY; cousin, Marie Nowark of North Tonawanda, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barb was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Zarek; sister, Blanche Janson; and brothers: Ernest and Albert Garner.
