Earl J. Buckmaster, 88 years young, gained his wings to heaven on August 4, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the oldest son of Harry H. and Leta M. Buckmaster, born on December 27, 1936, in Hydro, Oklahoma. He graduated from Hydro High School where he was known for his tenacity on the basketball court. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK with a degree in Pharmaceutical Studies in 1960. He attended OU School of Medicine until he joined the U.S. Airforce with time spent in San Antonio and eventually ending his military service at Tinker Airforce Base. In 1963, Earl then opened Westminster Drug in Nicoma Park, OK with partners and good friends, Manuel and Ruth Witt. In July of 1970, Earl married Joanne K. For over 40 years, the drugstore on the corner of 23rd and Westminster was a staple in the community. He loved his customers and treated them like family. Customers trusted him and often affectionately referred to him as "Dr. Earl" with many of them becoming lifelong friends. Earl then retired in 2005 to spend his days enjoying his grandchildren, connecting with friends often through text or Facebook, cheering for the OKC Thunder, traveling, and treasuring his garden full of flowers and trees.
