Earl was born in Providence, RI the son of the late Earl A. Elderkin, Sr. and Venonie (Applegate) Elderkin.
He was an avid reader, and a fan of Simon and Garfunkel and the Beatles.
He was a Pastor for the United Methodist Conference for years.
Survivors include sons, Earl A. Elderkin, III, Alpha Underwood, Pierre Underwood, Marcus Elderkin, and Charles Elderkin; and daughters, Venonie Elderkin, Lareisha Travis.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Pamela J. (Stickney) Elderkin; and daughter, Yolanda Heathcote.
A Funeral Ceremony for Earl will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc. 165 Columbia Tpk, Rensselaer. Friends and family are invited to call prior to the funeral from 11-1pm in the funeral home.

My dear friend Earl and all the family,
I just read of you father's passing and I am truly sorry for your loss. He was such a wonderful person and I am grateful to have had the privilege to know him. I have the pictures of him marrying my sister and her husband in his church back so many years ago, and I had to pull out the album and look at them right away. Your father had a smile you can't ever forget. A genuine smile. Truly a great man. You take after him in so many ways! My thoughts and prayers are with you all and may he rest peacefully and happily with your mother now.
(Please, Earl if you need anything or even to just talk -I am here for you! We lost contact again when your family moved from Glen. My number is still the same and I live in the same house as I did when we were kids! )
