Earl K. Fox, age 90, passed away at home surrounded by family on August 21st following an extended illness.
Earl was born December 13, 1934 in Plum City Wisconsin to parents Neal and Helen Fox. After graduating from high school in the Plum City class of 1952 he went on to work as an inspector of jet fuel tanks for U.S. Air Force planes for the Whirlpool Corporation in St Paul, Minnesota, until entering the U.S. Army in 1954. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and resumed working at Whirlpool Corporation.
In August, 1955 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carol Hewitt. They were blessed with four children, Jeff (Deanne), Julie (Jon Hokeness), Kevin (Sheila) and Kent (Bonnie).
In 1957 Earl took a position with Equifax as an insurance investigator and worked there for the next five years. In January 1962 he signed a contract to become an agent with the New York Life Insurance Co. where he was very successful. He added several other companies that he represented as his business expanded. He retired from his business career as an insurance agent in 2020, and continued to work part time into early 2025. He had obtained a college degree as a Chartered Life Underwriter and also a degree as a Chartered Financial Consultant during his career. Earl won numerous Company and Industry awards recognizing his service to his clients and the success he achieved during his career.
Earl was very active in the community serving five years as a Police and Fire Commissioner where he was selected as secretary, four years as Director of the Hammond Golf Course where he was selected as President, four years as an Officer of the Hudson Elks Lodge #640, and he served as a Director of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the St Patrick Home and School Association, and also Chairman of American Red Cross drive for the City of Hudson, as well as serving on other committees where he felt he could be of assistance. He was an active member of the St Patrick's Church in Hudson, Wisconsin, where a visitation will be held for him on Wednesday August 27 at 10:00 am followed by an 11:00 funeral mass.
Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, his four children, Grandchildren Michelle (Mike) Baker, Matt (Rachel) Fox, Adam (Darina) Fox, and Chris (Leah) Olstad. He is also survived by Great Grandchildren Emerald Baker and Ce Ce Olstad, and siblings Roger Fox, Bonnie (Fetzer), Mary Lou (Hase), and Brenda (Young). He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Doug Fox.
