Earl Anthony Lanham, 79, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at home. The Daviess County native was born October 16, 1945, to the late Leonard and Bertha Lanham. Earl worked as an architect for Lanham Brother General Contractors his entire career. He was a creative architect and many of his designs can be seen around Owensboro today. He was a faithful man and longtime member of First Baptist Church. Earl loved photography and his excellent pictures could be seen at the Owensboro Photography Club’s annual contest, where he won several awards through the years. He was an adventurous treasure hunter and collector. Beginning college at Brescia University, Earl was drafted and proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years. Following his years of service he attended and graduated from The University of Kentucky School of Architecture in 1973 and was an avid Kentucky sports fan. He continued to passionately cheer on the Cats for the remainder of his life. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 25 years, Joyce Ann Heflin Lanham, as well as his cousin-like a brother, Donnie Richardson, and stepson, Jameson Moore. 

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Judy Lanham, his daughters Nicole (Jack) Leech of Lantana, TX and Natalie (Patrick) Dame of Livermore, KY, his brother Leonard Wayne (Fay) Lanham of Shelbyville, KY, sisters Jennifer (Wasson) Kerrick of Philpot, KY and Sonya (Dean) Callis of Masonville, KY, granddaughter Brooke Lanham Leech, and grandsons 2LT Jackson Leech, Sebastian Smith, Gibson Dame and Locke Dame, step-daughter Stacy (Matt) Crisp, step granddaughters Mary Grace (Hunter) Goatley, Sarah (Dylan) Brown, step grandsons, John Mark (Anne) Boarman and Christopher Boarman, several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and trusted friend, James Johnston.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, followed with military honors and burial at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Earl’s name to HPC Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. Their compassionate and caring service to Earl and his family was exceptional.
