Earl Rinkenberger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bartholomew Funeral Home - Valparaiso on Jan. 20, 2026.
Earl Frederick Rinkenberger, 89, of Buckley, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, in Paxton, Illinois. He was born on New Year's Day in 1937 to Frederick and Lucille (Tragnitz) Rinkenberger.
Earl proudly served in the United States Army before returning home to work on the family farm. Farming became his true passion, and he remained dedicated to the land until only recently retiring due to his health. Even then, he found great joy in sitting outside and watching the Teske family continue working the fields throughout the seasons. Earl was the epitome of what a farmer should be-hardworking, humble, and deeply connected to the land.
He is survived by his sisters, Ethel DeYoung of Renton, Washington, and Renata "Rae" (Steve) Harris of Chesterton, Indiana. He is also survived by his nephews, Chuck (Michelle) Harris, John Paul Harris, and Jack (Melanie) DeYoung.
Earl would want to express his heartfelt thanks to the Teske family for continuing to farm his land and for allowing him to help in whatever ways he still could.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, 4135 W. 127th Street, Alsip, Illinois 60803.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley, Illinois.
