Earl Gene Scoles, Sr., 77, of Gambier, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, surrounded by his family at Knox Community Hospital, in Mount Vernon, OH.
Earl was born March 9th, 1947, in Newark, OH, to Royal Dean. and Mary Irene {Burrell} Scoles. He married Linda Sue Evans on February 18th, 1967, in South Carolina while in the Army. Studying several times in the Military and later, he finished a Criminal Justice Degree from Central Ohio Technical College. He also earned a Master Mechanic degree. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his son and grandson and playing his guitar with his friends. He was a gifted musician.
Earl will be deeply missed by his children Earl G. Scoles Jr of Butler, Kitty (Larry) Fath of Howard, Tonya Scoles of Mount Vernon, Steve Scoles Sr. of Heath, Jared (Andrea) Scoles of Gambier; eleven grandchildren and fifteen greatgrandchildren and his “twin” sister, Nola Irene Veatch and his friend Becky Pack. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Linda Sue Scoles, parents and sister Wanda K. Davidson.
Services will be Monday, November 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel with military rites and Pastor John Dutton officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
