With hearts full of gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Earl Wright of Hudson Oaks, TX at the age of 85.
On the First Day of Advent, December 1st, 2024 our Beloved Earl went Home to be with The Lord. Although we have a heavy heart we find peace in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be in the Presence of The Lord. His generous heart, unwavering nature, skilled craftsmanship, infectious laugh, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
Earl was born in Rankin, Texas on June 29, 1939, to his French Mother Julienne Blot-Evans and her husband Earl Wilford Wright who worked in the oil industry. His Father passed away at an early age and his Stepfather Earl Walter Evans affectionately known as "Daddy Buck" raised him. Earl spent his childhood in the coastal town of Port Isabel, in the South Texas wetlands, where his love for lighthouses began. He loved fishing and shrimping in the bays, enjoying the fresh seafood his hard work provided.
His lifelong career was as an analytical chemist at Cameron Ironworks in Houston, Texas, but his real passion was working in his workshop, crafting beautiful wooden projects, or tinkering with cars, motorcycles and anything mechanical-he truly loved working with his hands.
While attending church in Houston, Earl met and married Lorraine, with whom he shared 24 wonderful years and raised three beautiful daughters: Jeannine, Julienne, and Angela. Their church, Evangelistic Temple, was heavily involved in missions, which enriched their family's faith journey. After 24 years, Earl and Lorraine parted ways, and he moved to North Texas. There, he met Sandra Kay, who became his loving wife and companion for the next 35 years.
Earl and Kay made Hudson Oaks their home for the past eight years, enjoying time with their friends, family, and extended community. Earl's faith was steadfast throughout his 85 years of life, and he was a consummate witness of God's love, holding fast to his deep-rooted faith and unwavering commitment to his family.
A true adventurer at heart, Earl loved traveling, the sea, and spending time outdoors. He and Kay cherished their travels together, making memories filled with joy and love. Earl was an active member of Trinity Bible Church during the later years of his life.
Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Kay Wright; daughters, Jeannine Kuhnell, Julienne Sheffield and husband Steve, and Angela Wright; stepdaughter, Sheila Mayfield; sister, Martha Hill; brother, Herb Wright; grandson, Jason McKay, who pastors Lights Church in Fort Worth with his wife, Courtney; and twin great-grandchildren, Cole and Austin-all of whom carry forward his legacy of love, faith, craftsmanship, and a passion for adventure and the outdoors.
Earl's legacy is one of adventure, deep love for his family, and unshakable faith. He served the Lord faithfully throughout his life, bringing joy to everyone who knew him. He will be missed beyond measure but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Trinity Bible Church 4936 E. Interstate 20 | Service Road South in Willow Park, TX.

I had the pleasure to care for Earl when I worked for his pcp office. I will never forget telling him see you in 6 months, he looked at me with defeat in his eyes and replied "if I live that long".. I look at him and said "Earl!.. I said I will see you in 6 months! He looked back and smiled as if he decided right then okay see you then. He made it years after. I was truly blessed to be there for you and Sandra the best way I could. Even if it was just to be there to give him a hard time. I hope you both know you were the best patients ever and my heart is hurting for you. Earl you were a blessing to know. Sending comforting hugs and healing prayers. Megan M.
