Mrs. Earleen Smith was born on December 15, 1960, in Laurinburg, NC, to the late, Hazel Lee Moore-McNeil and Hubert McNeil. On November 3, 2025, Earleen transitioned into eternal life in her home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second mom, Mamie Moore; her husband, John Smith; her grandson, Chance Emmanuel Dawkins-McNeill; and her siblings, Kuba Lee Cash, Franklin Moore McNeil, and Annette Rogers; her nephews, Stephen Leon Cash, Kenneth James McNeil, and Alfred Lee McNeil, and her niece, LaKesha McNeil McDougald.
Earleen graduated from Scotland High School in 1979. Throughout her time there, she worked at various jobs, including positions at Campbell Soup, Century Care Nursing Home, and Scotland Container in Laurinburg, NC. Additionally, she held jobs in High Point, NC, during her younger years.
Earleen loved to gather with friends and family, especially if there was a spades game going on. She was loving and caring to those whom she surrounded herself with, especially her grandbabies.
The remembrance of shared moments and her not so quiet spirit of love brings comfort and peace to her surviving relatives: son, Charles McNeill (Tiera); granddaughters, Ta'Naiyah and Taylor; grandson, Cha'Zai; siblings, Hattie Mae McNeil, Effie Washington (Chris), Janette McNeil, Willie Earl Moore (Sandra), Harvey McNeil (Valerie), Marlin Ratcliffe (Anthony) and a hosts of nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is cherished by her special friends, Macke Tart, John (Jink) Williams, and Terry Edwards (T Hawk).
