A mass of Christian Burial for Earline Bartek will be held August 22, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in La Grange with interment to follow at the La Grange City Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for August 21, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
Earline Bartek passed away at St. David’s South in Austin on August 12, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in La Grange, Texas on December 18, 1937 to Elo and Lillian (Riesing) Kirsch.
Earline grew up on the family farm east of La Grange helping with the chores along with her other three sisters. She graduated from LaGrange ISD and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in La Grange. Earline started training for a career in nursing but then met Edwin the love of her life. As a mother of four children she stayed home, loved taking care of her children and loved gardening. Later in life Earline worked numerous jobs starting out as a waitress for several restaurants, then an operator for party line system at Bell Telephone and then in retail for various stores such as Bilroy’s, Gibsons, Winns, and retired from Walmart. When not working or tending house she would escape to the river or stock pond for some fishing. In retirement she loved to sew and made old time sock monkeys along with other items which her and Edwin would sell at craft shows. She made many friends while working and will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Earline is preceded in death by her parents, Elo and Lillian Kirsch; Her husband Edwin A. Bartek; Her sisters Ruth Krenek & Junelle Moore; Brother in laws Dennis and Johnnie Bartek; daughter in law Cynthia Bartek; Son in law Scott Ford; Grandson Daniel Malina and great Grandson Brenden Spoelstra.
She is survived by her two sons Edwin J. Bartek, Dennis Bartek and wife Donna; two daughters Cindy Ford and Laurie Schneider; sister and brother in law, Lillian and Ray Landry; eleven grandchildren, Tami Cooper and husband James, Kandice Spoelstra and husband Martin, Jessica Pantalion, Michelle Estes and husband Justin, Johnathan Noak, Lindsey Schneider, Amber Schneider, Heather Grant and husband Donald, Desiree Singer and husband Chris, Kyle Ford and wife Tiffany and Brian Ford and wife Kayla; twenty three great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Sacred Heart Church or a charity of one's choice.
