Ed Crook Obituary

CROOK – Edgar Nelson (Ed) Crook, age 76 of Snellville, GA, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Budensiek officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service. Ed grew up in Atlanta, attended Inman Park Methodist Church, Druid Hills High School and earned his master's degree from University of GA. He loved his Bulldogs, playing golf & rocking out with the headphones on while cutting grass. Ed began his career teaching, coaching & drivers' education in Dekalb County and expanded into school transportation as a supervisor in Cobb County before becoming the Transportation Director for Newton County Board of Education prior to retirement. After retirement, he continued in sales and consulting with 24-7 Security working with school buses. He was very active in GAPT (Georgia Pupil Transportation) and was a board member and past president. He was a respected mentor for his students, and anyone needing work related advice and loved for his humor and foolishness. Never one to take life too seriously, Ed had a gift for turning the ordinary into laughably foolish, and the mundane into memories. In a world that often felt too misleading, Ed was a bright, bizarre, and beautiful reminder to lighten up - to dance badly, to laugh loudly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mary (Allen) Crook, sister and brother-in-law, Jennie Crook (Richard) Lopez. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Donna Crook of Snellville; his two beloved daughters Marybeth (Marc) Tozer, Emmy Crook, loving stepchildren Mike (McKenzie) Bartlett, Amanda Azriel, all of Georgia; grandchildren, Ryan Tozer (Shelby) of Florida, Elliot Bartlett of Georgia, Alex Azriel of Georgia; great grandchildren Nora and Atlas Tozer of Florida and many cousins from Atlanta & Ft. Mill, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alpha 1 foundation: https://secure.alpha1.org/site/Donation2?2180.donation=form1&df_id=2180&mfc_pref=T. Arrangements by Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville, GA 30052. 770-466-1544. Please sign the online guest registry at www.stewartfh.com.
