AYERS – William Henry "Hank" Ayers, age 62 of Loganville, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Corinth Christian Church, 1635 Hwy 81 SW, Loganville, GA. Dr. Jamie Merritt, Pastor Mario Amoretti, Sr., Minister Adam Turner and Minister Josh Moore will officiate. The visitation will be held 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM prior to the service at the church.
Hank was a lifelong resident of the metro Atlanta area, where he raised his two children with his wife, Shari, and acted as a father figure to so many more. Hank graduated from South Gwinnett High School in 1981 and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in 1983. During his college years and early adulthood, he played Dobro guitar in a bluegrass band and sang at the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, TN. He was an engineer by trade and was well-known in his field for his professionalism, good humor, and intelligence. He was a member of Corinth Christian Church and a former member and deacon at Berean Bible Church in Loganville, Sunrise Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, and South Gwinnett Baptist Church in Snellville. Hank could play any instrument with strings and had a rich, resonant voice, and he used those talents in the praise band at his church, where he was also a former youth and adult Sunday school teacher. Hank was also a member of the Lions Club and valued service for his community. He was a trusted friend, a faithful husband, a loving father, and the best Papa to his two granddaughters and many granddogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rollin William and Mary Alice (Pruitt) Ayers. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years and soulmate, Shari Ayers of Loganville; son, Tyler (Rachel) Ayers of TN; daughter, Shelby (Josh) King of GA; grandchildren, Rowan Ayers, Finley Wright; sister, Laura Ayers Wright of GA; nephew and "second son", Sean (Jocelyn) Wright of GA; his beloved dog, Sophie; grand-dogs, Scout, Daisy, Baxter, Bailey and Zeus; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Amoretti family.
