Raymond Tallent, age 82, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Ann Wages Tallent, on November 2, 2022. He is survived by his daughter, Carmen Tallent White of Lawrenceville, GA, his son, Carl Tallent and son-in-law Cristián González of New York, NY, and two grandsons, Nathaniel White and Daniel White both of Lawrenceville, GA.
Raymond was also preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Austin Tallent and Lena Bell Peavy Tallent, father-in-law & mother-in-law, Clyde and Loyce Moon Wages, and brother, James Tallent. His sister, Becky Johnson, resides in Conyers, GA.
Raymond was born on January 19, 1943, at home in Loganville, GA. He was a 1961 graduate of South Gwinnett High School. He was a very involved and devoted member of Bethesda United Methodist Church (now known as The Nett at Bethesda). He served on many committees and organized many events for the church, especially the annual fish fry. Those who knew him will all remember the silver crosses he passed out to everyone he ever met. Friends of Carmen and Carl who he was especially worried about perhaps received several crosses. He also loved spending time with his beloved dogs, Stanley and Spud. He was always known for his charisma, charm, good looks, and offbeat sense of humor.
Raymond will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
The Service to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Raymond Tallent will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1:00PM at Bethesda United Methodist Church (known as The NETT.) Interment to follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, October 29th from 2:00PM-4:00PM & 6:00PM-8:00PM at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Flowers are accepted, but those desiring may make memorial contributions to The Nett Church. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com. Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, 120 Scenic Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046 (770-963-2411) has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Tallent.
