Benjamin Andrew Martin, known affectionately as Ben to his friends and family, embarked on his final journey on October 17, 2025, in Atlanta, GA, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others.
Ben's academic pursuits were as impressive as they were impactful. He earned both his Bachelor's and M.S. degrees from ETSU in Psychology and Applied Sociology, later achieving a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Virginia Tech. His intellectual rigor and passion for understanding the human mind led him to become a respected published psychologist, contributing numerous articles that enriched the field. As a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Master Safety Professional (MSP), Ben was not just a safety expert; he was a guardian of well-being in the workplace, recognized by his peers with multiple awards for his contributions to the profession.
Ben's love for life was paralleled by his love for the Dallas Cowboys, a team he supported with the same passion he brought to every aspect of his life. He was also a gifted writer and painter, channeling his creativity into works that reflected his humor and love for the world around him. Christmas was his favorite holiday, a time when his generosity and joy shone brightest, and his home became a beacon of warmth and celebration.
Those who knew Ben would describe him as funny, selfless, and passionate. He approached every day with a smile that could light up a room and a joke that could defuse any tension. His selflessness was evident in the way he put others before himself, always ready to lend a hand or an ear. And his passion was not just for his work but for every person he met, every life he touched.
Ben leaves behind a loving family who were the center of his universe: his mother, Cassandra (Sandy) Richards; his father, Ken Martin; his brothers, Josh and John Martin; his sister, Bethany Martin Anderson; and his cherished daughter, Anndora Martin Ehninger. Each of them carries a piece of Ben's spirit, his laughter, and his unwavering love.
In lieu of flowers, his family has asked for donations to be made to the Boys and Girls Club of America and/or the Robin Leonard and Chris Dula scholarship foundation.
