Ed Junior Lewis, age 76, of Forest City, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Magnolia Lane Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, in Morganton,
Ed was born on Sunday, April 6, 1947, in Rutherford County to the late Ed M. Lewis and Bertie Tipton Lewis. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Ed was a member of the Forest City Church of the Nazarene. He loved NASCAR racing. Ed worked for A-PAC Paving for twenty years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Janie Lewis, and a son, Richard Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons Rodney Lewis (Shirley Whisnant), Scott Lewis (Amanda); sister, Louise Nanney; brothers, Willard Lewis (Irene), Sam Lewis (Dolly), David Lewis (Brenda); also, twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the time of the service. Private inurnment at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
