Ed (Eddie) Valentino Martinez, known affectionately by his loved ones as Ed V. Martinez, Biggie, and Ellemenno, passed from this life on December 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on October 7, 1956, in Ogden, Utah, to Leo J. and Mable G. Martinez. He was oldest of four children. Ed was a beacon of love and laughter, lighting up the lives of all who knew him. He was a funny, empathetic, generous, and loving individual who cherished his family above all else.

Ed met the love of his life, Susie Gallegos, when they were 8 years old. They later married and raised 4 children, Melissa, Cassandra, Edward, and Andrew.

Ed dedicated himself to a life of service and love. He worked as a Non-Foods Manager at Kent's Marketplace in Brigham City, Utah, until his retirement in 2010. Ed's love for his community was reflected in his active participation in the Knights of Columbus. Ed's hobbies were a reflection of his joyous spirit and love for life. He was often found bowling, fishing, deer hunting with his brother and father, camping, swimming, yard sale shopping, golfing, and playing basketball with his sons. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter and warmth.

Ed leaves behind a legacy of love. He is preceded in death by his father Leo Martinez, his brother Samuel Martinez, his nephew Ethan Maw, and his grandson Moises Tapia.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susie Martinez, his daughters Melissa (Daniel) Tapia of Garland, UT, and Cassandra Christensen, his sons Edward Martinez, and Andrew (Ellie) Martinez, all of Brigham City, UT, mother Mable Martinez, sister Yvonne (Bryce) Maw, and brother Tyronne (Lori) Martinez all of Ogden, UT. He is also survived by and was a proud grandfather to Tatiana (Steven), Joel, Nevaeh, Dayton, and Camilo and great-grandfather to Kairo and Zorian.

Ed's life was a testament to the power of love and the joy that can be found in every moment. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 380 S. 200 E. Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E. Brigham City, Utah. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories and stories of Ed from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. From 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., friends and family are welcome to stay and visit during an open reception. Prior to the service a viewing will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Brigham City Myers Mortuary. Interment will be at Brigham City Cemetery.
