With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Mother, who died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85, on the morning of July 19, 2025.
Edda was born in Bilina, Czechoslovakia on March 12, 1940 to Wenzel Kubalik and Maria (Wolf) Kubalik.
She moved to the U.S. on Christmas Eve in 1959 and eventually settled in Merrimac, MA where she raised her three children.
She leaves behind a sister, Elfriede Schopp of Stuttgart, Germany; her three children, Richard P. Mathieu of Merrimac, MA, Maria and husband Paul Nadeau of Hampton, NH and Stephan J. Mathieu of Watertown , MA, and two grandchildren, Samuel Nadeau and Sophie Nadeau.
A private Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton, NH, followed by a private burial at Locust Grove Cemetery in Merrimac, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to New Hampshire SPCA, 104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH 03885.
