Edda Schulz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home & Crematory - Port Saint Lucie on Feb. 2, 2026.
Edda Schulz, a resident of Ballantrae Estates, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rakesh "Ash" Asthana; her daughter, Monika Schulz; her sons, Martin Schulz and Neal Asthana, Neal's wife Alonnah; and her two beloved grandchildren, Madeline and Chloe.

Edda also leaves behind an extended family spanning America, Austria, and India. She was the heart that connected loved ones across continents, known for her warmth, generosity, and welcoming hospitality. In her final days, she was cared for with compassion at Treasure Coast Hospice, where she passed peacefully.

She was a remarkable woman, a devoted mother, and for forty years, a joyful and spirited life partner. Edda brought light wherever she went, uplifting those around her with her radiant presence.

Professionally, Edda had a distinguished career at the World Bank. She later helped establish World Informatix Cyber Security, serving as the company's president during its formative years. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a master gardener with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and native, organic gardening. She was also a compassionate advocate for animals and for living a thoughtful, sustainable lifestyle. Neighborhood dogs knew her well, as she never failed to greet them with affection and a treat as they passed her home.

Despite her many pursuits, family remained the center of her world. She was an accomplished cook and the heart of countless gatherings, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Edda had a profound passion for travel and cultural exploration. She traveled extensively throughout the world, even living in Kathmandu, Nepal for a time, always embracing people with openness and kindness. Her happiest place, however, was her homeland, Austria, where she cherished Viennese culture, classical music, opera, and culinary traditions. She was equally at home hiking in the Alps, wandering around alpine lakes, and relaxing with a beer at a mountain garden or Gasthof.

The family is deeply grateful for the condolences and support received. Your kind wishes bring comfort and peace during this time.

Our beloved Edda - rest in peace. Om Shanti. We carry you with us, always.
