Eddie Cathey

 

George Edward “Eddie” Cathey, 60, of Collierville, formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Baptist Hospital Collierville.  He is the son of George and Josephine Cathey.  Eddie was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Choir. He enjoyed being a member of the Memphis Men of Harmony.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Loren Stephens with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be J.D. Jaggers, Jacob Cathey, Nick Matson, Jody Emerson, Zach Brummett, Hayden Murrah, and Matt Loeffler.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, February 13th beginning at 12 noon until service time at 2pm at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Tidwell Cathey; three sons, Pierce Cathey of Memphis, Peyton Cathey, Parker Cathey, both of Collierville; his sister, Mary Lee Cathey Johnson of Dyersburg; his brother, Larry Paul Cathey (Kim) of Bartlett; two sisters- in-law, Ginger Emerson (Jody) of Bells, Patti Matson (Nick) of Huntersville, TX; three nieces, Callie Jaggers, Claire Jaggers, Lauren Matson Davis; and three nephews, J.D. Jaggers, Jacob Cathey and Nicholas Matson.
