Eddie James Damron passed from this life on November 14, 2025, in
Hugo, OK. He was born in Circle Back, Texas on October 30, 1935. He was raised by his parents Ollie & Jackie Damron. He grew up in the Circle Back, Texas area until he was a teenager when his family moved to Clovis, New Mexico. He graduated from Clovis High School in Clovis, in 1955.
He married Francis (Barnes) Damron on April 17, 1955. They celebrated their 70th anniversary together this year. After graduation Eddie and Fran made their home in Clovis and he began his full-time farming career alongside his father, Ollie. They farmed maize and wheat for over 15 years together before setting out for expansion in Oklahoma.
They looked all over the country including Colorado & Montana before settling on SE Oklahoma. Eddie purchased a 1000-acre parcel in Spencerville where he would ranch for the next 57 years. After his move to Oklahoma, he became very involved with local civic groups such as the Booster Club, the Water Board and the PRCA rodeo committee. He also served on the board of directors for the Federal Land Bank and coaching numerous local ball teams as well as being a member of the First Baptist Church in Hugo.
He retired from ranching in 2017 and moved to town and enjoyed working in his shop and making different projects for his wife and 3 girls from wood and metal. Eddie was a family man who raised 3 daughters together with Fran. He enjoyed them all and being involved in their activities.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, James Ollie and Alta Mae (Hicks) Damron and brother, Larry Damron.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Fran of 70 years of the home; daughters Debra and Rick Williamson, Kit Pipkin and Karri Buchanan and Jimmy Suddeth; grandchildren, Nick Williamson, Brock Williamson, Kaleb Payne, Jake Buchanan, Jami Childers and Justin Suddeth; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law Mary Ella Gentry.
