Eddie "Ed" Carl Chance, Jr. age 64, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Friday morning, August 4, 2023, at Augusta Medical College in Augusta, GA.
Funeral services for Mr. Chance will be held on Monday morning, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Walden and Rev. David Roland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with J.C. Chance, Bryan Chance, Russell Chance, Ricky McCall, Brandon Helms, and Thomas Chance serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Poole and Bruce Earnest. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the church.
Mr. Chance was born in Donalsonville, GA on October 17, 1958, to Eddie Carl Chance, Sr. and Mabel Earnest Chance. He was involved in and worked in farming all of his life. He enjoyed fishing and being out on his boat, but most of all he loved farming and being in the cab of a John Deere tractor.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Darlene Clenney Chance of Colquitt, GA; his children, Don Robert Bishop of Donalsonville, GA, Cliff Carl Chance of Leesburg, GA, and Jessica Danielle Chance of Cowarts, AL; his sister, Marla Touchton of Donalsonville, GA; his brother, Carlton Douglas "Cotton" Chance of Donalsonville, GA; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Chance of Donalsonville, GA. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Chance was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Carl Chance, Sr. and Mabel Earnest Chance; as well as two brothers, Bill Chance and Marvin "Bubba" Chance.
