Eddie Lee Jefferson

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Eddie(Jeff) our loving and devoted husband, father and friend to all whose lives he touched, on October 22, 2024. Eddie suffered many illnesses the last few years and left us while sleeping peacefully at Community Hospice at the Baptist South Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born January 27, 1946, in Duval County, a son of the late Eddie Sr. and Rosie L. (Anderson) Jefferson.
After high school Eddie joined the United States Air Force in which he retired from after 20 years of service. During his years of military service he became an excellent cook, known for his delicious spaghetti. Eddie also took exquisite delight in keeping his lawn well-manicured, if you knew Eddie he didnt play about making sure his yard was always on point. During his service in the military, he often would win the yard of the month. Eddie was also a lover of western movies and tv shows. He favored the 70's music with Etta James being his favorite artist.
Eddie was predeceased in death by his parents, Eddie Sr. and Rosie L. (Anderson) Jefferson; and his siblings, Little Richard, Theodore R., Rufus, Martha, Julia M. & Willie.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jacqueline L. Jefferson, and their children, Otisha (Edward), Crystal, Eddie III, and Jessica. He was also a cherished grandfather to Cierra(Ce-Ce), Kavarius, Irye & Keonne. His legacy extends to his siblings, Annie B. Jefferson, Linda Jefferson, John Henry, George E., Earl M. (Jennifer), Robert L., and Jeff W. (Sandra), all of whom are based in Jax,FL.
His love for family did not end there. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to each of the following: Tony & Darlene Zanders(Alexsis(Rick), Jarvis(Atasha), Ant'juan(Ann), Saniya, Dallas, Jarvis Jr., Antjuan Jr., Anthony, Comoni), Felicia Johnson( Myca & Wesly) Marc & Melanie Brown(Marc, CiCi, Miyah & Bre), Danny & Cherry Watts, Janet Daniels, Walter & Linda Allen & Carla Lang, in addition to the afore mention he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
Eddie's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family whom he loved very much. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
