Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. Eddie Lee Johnson Sr, age 75, who passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extend illness. Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a retired hydraulic manager and welder from Harris Waste Management, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie, and Nellie Johnson; a brother, Truman Johnson; and his oldest son, Eddie Lee Johnson Jr.
Surviving is a devoted wife, Barbara Johnson; two daughters, Laura Johnson and Holley Rentz (Brad); a son, Willie Travis Johnson (Becky); four granddaughters, Kaitlin Dyal (Cameron), Madeline Rentz, Jesse Riane Bruce, and Trinity Johnson; two grandsons, Brent Johnson and Cooper Rentz; a great grandson, Ayden “Bird-Dog” Dyal; four brothers, Pete Johnson, Robert Johnson, Bobby Johnson, and Herman Johnson (Linda); three sisters, Patricia Solomon (Dallas), Diane Gruber (Jerry), and Eva Reese (Terry); and many nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. from the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lamar Lee and Reverend James Minick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Active Pallbearers are Terry Reese, Brad Rentz, Cooper Rentz, Brent Johnson, Wayne Branch, and Cameron Dyal.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Community Hospice of Vidalia and Hospice of South Georgia, Inc.
