Eddie LaVell Fuqua Johnson passed away on February 28, 2026, in Odessa Texas.
She was born on December 15, 1937, in Big Spring Texas to Marcella King and Paul H. Fuqua.
She was the eldest of three children. She moved to Odessa Texas at the age of five and would call it home for the rest of her life. She Graduated from Odessa High School in 1956. She married Bill Johnson on November 9, 1956. They celebrated 68 years of marriage and were blessed with two wonderful children, Mark and Vicki Johnson. Her children gave her three wonderful grandchildren, Stevie Johnson, Landon Johnson and Cole Johnson. They all remained close until her death.
She had numerous jobs in her life including the Scott Theater, Pioneer Natural Gas, and finally, First Savings and Loan where she retired as one of their Vice Presidents at an early age to spend quality time with her grandchildren, that was the most special time in her life.
She belonged to Asbury Methodist Church since its inception in the 60’s.
She was proceeded in death by husband Bill Johnson, Sister Jean Sneed, Brother Jerry Fuqua, Granddaughter Kimberly Dawn Turner, Cousin Jack Milam, Aunt Polly Pearce, mother-in-law and father-in-law Opal and Robert Johnson.
She is survived by her Daughter Vicki Johnson, Son Mark Johnson and Wife Carol, Grandchildren Stevie Johnson, Cole Johnson, Landon Johnson and Wife Angelica and Great Granddaughter Mila Johnson her pride and joy. Kellye Johnson, Mother of Stevie and Cole. Cousin Dick Milam and Wife Joyce and many long-time friends. She loved people and loved to talk and never met a stranger.
There will be a visitation at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday March 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery on Thursday March 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Russ Nebhut officiating.
Memorials should be directed to St. Judes, Asbury Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels in Odessa. She asked for no flowers please.
