Eddie Miears Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service - Yorktown Blvd. on Dec. 18, 2025.
Eddie Lewis Miears passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on December 16, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on December 7, 1946, in Gorman, Texas, Eddie's life was a tapestry of love, pride, and storytelling.
Eddie was a proud retired Navy Seabee who honorably served his country for 23 years, retiring as an E6 PO1 in February 1989. His dedication to his nation was a true testament to his character. After his military career, he worked at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times until his second retirement.
An avid storyteller, Eddie's passion for capturing moments was evident in his love for photography and video making. He cherished creating home videos, which became treasured memories for his family. His stories of youth, military life, marriage, and travels were often shared with humor and left a lasting impression on all who listened.
Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Miears; his parents, Doil and Ruth Miears; his brothers, Milton and Leon Miears; and his nephew, Jeffery Miears. He is survived by his daughters, Joanna Olivarez (Joseph), Jessica Adame (Gabino), Jennifer Taylor (Jason), Janet Miears, and Jacqueline McCoy (Brian); his sister-in-law, Linda Miears; his nephew, Jason Miears (Dawn); and his grandchildren, Samantha Miears, Shawn Frazier, Joshua Sifuentes, Gabrielle Adame, Jordan Adame, Christopher Crabb (Sierra), Chasity Crabb, Tyler Ryan, Sabrina Miears, Isaiah Maravilla, Angelica Maravilla, Lupe Maravilla, Mikey Ray, Alexis McCoy, and Tiffany McCoy. He was a proud great-grandfather to Avery Crabb, CJ Crabb, Alani Crabb, Leighlani Booth, Alec Booth, Azaiah Booth, and Juliet Zamora.
Eddie's loving nature extended to every part of his life, especially the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His wisdom and courage inspired those around him and guided many to live with integrity and honor.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived-this is to have succeeded." Eddie's life was indeed a success, marked by the countless lives he touched through his generosity and love.
Those who knew Eddie will remember him as a man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer honest yet funny advice: "Want in one hand, shit in the other see which one fills up faster." His presence brought strength, stability, and safety to his family, and his guidance will be deeply missed. Eddie's unwavering love for his children and grandchildren, his courage in the face of life's challenges, and his wise counsel will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Eddie's passing leaves a void, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he touched by his generosity, his laughter, and his profound respect for life. The memories he created, the stories he told, and the lives he enriched are his lasting legacy. A beacon of love that will continue to shine in the hearts of his family.
Eddie Lewis Miears, a true Hero, lived a life defined by courage, love, and wisdom. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing his life was well lived and his memory will be cherished forever. His stories and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him, reminding us to live in every moment and to lead a life worthy of remembrance.
